A New and Exciting Attraction has just Launched in Cork!
Cork on Ice (which has been running since 2007) and iceskating.ie have collaborated to bring you the Alpine Skate Trail.
Skate through the Fota woodlands for a completely new skating experience, Ireland's first of its type. Enjoy this wonderful outdoor experience with the whole family.
This year, the Cork on Ice crew at Fota is ditching its conventional rink in favor of a new alpine track through the woods, which sounds both fascinating and socially distanced.
The 450m circuit will be set in a figure of eight meandering around trees in a "real enchanted forest - particularly at night when it is illuminated". and will be around the length of an athletics track.
Bill Cremin, the manager of Cool Running Events, said that during the lockdown, organizers were able to take a "fresh look at what could be done to make skating even more fun and exciting for our guests".
The Skate trail opened on the 12th of November and will be opened for a limited time until the 23rd of January 2022. For FAQ's , how to get there etc. Please check out their website here
