Tips for Your Wedding Day from a Wedding Coordinator

- Posted on: 18/03/2026 -

When it comes to wedding day advice, there’s no one better to ask than someone who has seen it all. We spoke with Laura, our in-house wedding coordinator, who has helped plan and deliver over 100 weddings, to share a few simple but often overlooked tips that can make a real difference on the day.

Put Someone in Charge of Time

One of the easiest ways to keep your day running smoothly is to have a dedicated timekeeper. Laura recommends assigning this role to your Maid of Honour. From making sure everyone is ready on time to gathering the bridal party for photos, having one trusted person keeping an eye on the schedule means you can relax and enjoy the morning without watching the clock.

Plan Your Photos in Advance

It’s easy to assume you’ll remember every photo you want, but the day can pass quickly. Take time beforehand to chat with your photographer about key shots and group photos. Think about the people who matter most to you, especially those you might not see every day. It’s far better to plan ahead than to realise afterwards that you missed a photo with someone special.

Keep a Touch-Up Kit Close By

A small touch-up bag can be a lifesaver throughout the day. Laura suggests keeping essentials close at hand, such as:

  • Lipstick or gloss
  • Powder
  • Mini hairspray
  • Hairpins
  • Perfume
  • Deodorant

It’s a simple step, but it helps you feel fresh and confident from the ceremony right through to the last dance.

Have a Plan for Your Bouquet

Your bouquet is a big part of your day, but it’s often forgotten once the celebrations begin. If you’re planning to preserve or dry it, make sure someone knows where it should go after the ceremony. Without a plan, bouquets can easily get misplaced or damaged once the evening celebrations are underway.

A Small but Handy Tip

Tuck a tissue into your bouquet. It’s discreet, practical, and you’ll be glad it’s there when emotions run high.

Most Importantly, Enjoy It

After all the planning, the most important thing is to be present and enjoy every moment. Trust your suppliers, trust your plan, and allow yourself to fully take in the day. As Laura says, it all comes together. Your job is simply to soak it up.
