Summer in Cork is a magical time of year. Something that everyone should experience. The days are long, and the weather is mild, along with the striking green landscapes that contrast with the blue sky, Ireland could be considered quite short from a Fantasy. 

One of the best things about summer in Cork is the abundance of festivals and events. Move your feet and let loose at Longitude Festival and get into the Irish trad at Bandon Music Festival. As well as this, there are many food and drink festivals such as, Cork on a Fork Festival and Feast – East Cork Food and Drink Festival, there's something for everyone!But even if you're not into festivals, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the Irish summer.

Cork is the perfect place for those adventure seekers to spend their summer. Take a hike along the Ballycotton Cliff trail which leads to an old shipwreck, go surfing at Garretstown beach, or rent a bike and explore Roscarberry, West Cork. Complete your Cork summer with a visit to the Old Head of Kinsale! The breath taking views and friendly locals will make it more than evident why Cork is the perfect summer desination.

One of the best things about summer in Ireland is the long evenings. It's not uncommon for the sun to set at 10pm or later, which means you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. Pack a picnic and head to Fitzgerald Park for a lazy afternoon or take a stroll along the River Lee. But ofcourse, we have to mention the weather. 

While it's true that Ireland can be rainy at any time of year, summer is generally a mild and sunny season. You'll still want to pack a rain jacket just in case, but you'll also want to bring plenty of sunscreen – even on cloudy days. Overall, summer in Cork is a time of beauty, fun, and adventure. Whether you're looking to explore the countryside, soak up some culture, or simply enjoy the long days, you're sure to find something to love.
