VAT Changes
Please be advised, the government have made the decision to increase the VAT Rate that applied to tourism activities, which includes hotels and restaurants, from 9% to 13.5%, effective from the 1st of January 2019.
“The hotel sector is singled out by the Government for an increase in the special lower VAT rate as Ministers seek to raise revenue in the budget” – The Irish Times
VAT is Value Added Tax and is a statutory money collected by us on the behalf of the government. It is a tax on consumer spending so everyone who pays for goods and services pays VAT. Subsequently this change in VAT may impact of the price you pay for our products and services.
Unfortunately, this means that we will have to add the price of VAT onto our products and services in order for us to maintain a sustainable business.
