2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s maiden voyage. Cobh, then Queenstown, was the Titanic’s last port of call. 123 passengers boarded the magnificent vessel in a bid to journey to the new world. For the last century the world has been intrigued with the story of the largest passenger liner at the time and the vessel that many thought was unsinkable.
Cobh will be hosting a year long program of celebrations called Titanc 100 which promised some once in a lifetime opportunities such as a Titanic Themed Ball, and Concerts on Spike Island. Although the Titanic celebrations last the whole year with monthly events, the crux of the Titanic 100 celebrations will be from April 9th to 21st.
Fitzgeralds Vienna Woods Hotel Cork is just 15 minutes from Cobh, and the ideal hotel near Cork City to base yourself at while attending the Titanic 100 year anniversary celebrations. Choose from one of our comfortable hotel rooms, or stay atone of our self catering cork holiday homes.
